In 2012, Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority and Hatch Mott MacDonald collaborated to design an 84” Gravity Pipeline Project to mitigate the $500,000 annual electric bill to supply Jersey City residents with water.  Scafar Contracting was tasked to construct the project and associated enhancements to the reservoir.

Portions of the project include demolition and construction of a new steel piping manifold, installation of 84” gravity pipeline; 72” bypass line and installation of a rapid mix chamber with chemical feed system.
